Ep 39: The Truth About AI? It Can't Fix Confused Marketing. Here's What To Get Clear On First.

Let’s talk about something I know many of you have been wondering: how do you use AI in your business without sounding robotic or losing the real you in your marketing?

In this episode, I’m diving into how to use AI as a creative tool, not a crutch. I’ll share how I personally use it (yep, even for family meal planning with hidden veggies), and how I support my clients to use it inside Get Clear & Grow in a way that actually strengthens their message, rather than diluting it.

We’ll chat about using AI for brainstorming and organising your thoughts, how to train a custom GPT to sound like you, and why that human-to-human connection in your marketing still matters more than ever. This isn’t about handing over your voice, it’s about knowing how to keep it front and centre while letting AI do some of the heavy lifting.

In this episode, you’ll learn:
 • [00:02:45] How I use AI in everyday life (and the funny ChatGPT moment with my husband)
 • [00:06:50] Why I guide clients through using AI inside Get Clear & Grow
 • [00:10:30] The best way to brainstorm with AI without losing your message
 • [00:15:00] How to create a custom GPT that sounds like you
 • [00:18:20] Why authenticity is still your most powerful marketing asset
 • [00:21:10] What AI can’t fix: clarity and message must come first

Ep 38: Stuck In A Business Slump? Here's How To Get Out Of It.

[00:00:00]
Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Clear Business Growth Show. I hope you’ve had a really good week.

[00:00:10]
We’ve all seen the explosion of AI and AI tools in business, online, everywhere really. And I know a lot of service-based businesses are wondering, or have wondered, how do I keep my marketing authentic and me without getting left behind? Can I actually use AI without sounding robotic? And what does real connection even look like in this world of AI and automation?

[00:00:35]
So in today’s episode, we’re diving into how to use AI as a creative tool without losing you—your voice and your unique perspective—and why authenticity matters more than it ever has in service-based business.

[00:01:00]
I use AI quite a lot in both business and life. Personally, I use it for a lot of things—like figuring out what we’re going to eat each week. I get it to take into account I’ve got two small kids who don’t always love veggies, that I’m trying to increase my protein, and that some days are much busier than others.

[00:01:30]
It helps me plan meals and even generates a shopping list categorised by supermarket aisles. It saves me a ton of mental energy.

[00:01:45]
I also use it as a collect-my-thoughts space. If something’s bothering me, I talk it through with ChatGPT.

[00:02:00]
Funny story—my husband and I share a paid ChatGPT account. He tried one of those reflection prompts going around a while back, and it basically described this superhuman hybrid of both of us. It made me laugh.

[00:02:25]
And it got me thinking—how are you using AI? Some of my clients come into Get Clear & Grow having never touched ChatGPT. That’s why I walk them through it in the welcome module.

[00:02:45]
Some think they know how to use it, but get fresh perspectives. Others are grateful it finally gets them started. Later in the program, I go deeper into how to use AI strategically.

[00:03:00]
Let’s talk about keeping your authentic voice while using AI. I use it for brainstorming a lot. I voice note my rambly thoughts, then use a detailed prompt to get ChatGPT to pull out the gold.

[00:03:25]
One thing I miss about corporate life is bouncing ideas off colleagues. Now, ChatGPT fills that role. But you have to be clear on what you’re asking and why. The clearer your prompt, the better the output.

[00:03:50]
I always tell clients—treat ChatGPT like a marketing assistant. Train it. Give it feedback. The more you engage with it thoughtfully, the better it gets.

[00:04:10]
Now, I do push back on this idea that AI will replace service-based businesses. Yes, tech will keep evolving, like it always has, but in service businesses, human connection is everything.

[00:04:35]
People want to know who they’re working with. They want to trust the person delivering the service. So your marketing and your sales process need to reflect the real you.

[00:04:50]
Inside Get Clear & Grow, I guide clients to create their own custom GPT—so it learns their voice, tone, and messaging. But—and this is key—don’t use AI outputs word for word.

[00:05:10]
Edit it. Make sure it sounds like you. Check it reflects your values, your offers, your strategy. Make sure it actually communicates what you want to say to your great-fit clients.

[00:05:30]
And when it comes to marketing and sales? Show up face-to-camera. Speak your message. Use the points you brainstormed with AI—but make it you.

[00:05:50]
Because real, human connection is more important now than ever. People can tell when something is AI-written. And after years of lockdowns, people are craving genuine human connection.

[00:06:15]
But here’s the truth—AI won’t save your marketing if your message isn’t clear. If your clarity is off, AI just amplifies the confusion.

[00:06:30]
Message first. Clarity first. Then AI can help you scale your voice and ideas. Without that foundation, you’re just creating more noise.
