You know that voice in your head that says, “I’ll work on that when things calm down”?
Yeah, that one.
The one that tells you to wait until you’re less busy, until the right moment, until you have more capacity.
Here’s what I’ve learned after 12 years in business and working with hundreds of service providers: That moment never comes.
And waiting for it is one of the fastest ways to repeat last year instead of creating your next level.
Because clarity doesn’t require calm. Clarity creates calm. I want to share a story with you that proves it.
Let’s talk about what’s really going on when you tell yourself you’ll “wait until things calm down.”
On the surface, it sounds reasonable, right? You’re busy. Fully booked, maybe. Juggling client work, admin, marketing, life.
And you think, “I’ll work on refining my offer when I have more time.”
Or, “I’ll get clear on my messaging when I’m not so stretched.”
Or, “I’ll build that signature framework once things ease up.”
But here’s the truth: Waiting for calm is just another way of staying stuck.
Because when you’re in the messy middle, when business feels heavy, scattered, reactive, that’s when you need clarity the most.
Not when things are easy. Not when you magically have space. Now.
And I know that because I’ve seen it play out over and over again with my clients.
Including one I want to tell you about today.
So, this client, a parent coach, came to me at a really interesting crossroads. She’d been working with clients for years. She had a good offer. She was delivering great results. People loved her work.
But something was shifting inside her. She could feel it in herself, and she could see it in her audience. Her followers were asking different questions. Her ideal clients were evolving.
And deep down, she knew she wanted to create something new, a whole new offer that felt more aligned with where she was now, and what her people were really needing.
But here’s the thing: She was busy. Fully booked. Delivering for clients. Showing up in her business every day. And she kept thinking, “I’ll work on this new offer when I have more time.”
“I’ll wait until my calendar clears up a bit.”
“I’ll do it when I’m not so stretched.”
But we both knew, if she waited for that moment, it would never come.
So instead, she made a decision. She decided to create clarity now, even though things felt full.
And we got to work.
Inside Get Clear and Grow, we didn’t wait for her to have “more capacity.”
We created the capacity by getting clear. We mapped out her new offer. We clarified exactly who it was for and what transformation it would create. We refined her messaging so it spoke directly to the shift her audience was experiencing. And we built a simple, structured plan to launch it.
Now, I want you to hear this part clearly: She didn’t need to burn everything down. She didn’t need to stop working with clients. She didn’t need to wait for some mythical “quiet season.” She just needed structure and support to move forward with clarity.
She launched the new offer. And she filled 18 spots. Her goal was a handful. She sold 18. Not because she had more time. Not because things got easier. But because she stopped waiting and started building.
Here’s what I want you to take from this story: If she had waited until business felt calmer, she would still be waiting. And she would have missed the momentum, the clients, the transformation, both for herself and the people she served. Because waiting doesn’t create readiness.
Deciding creates readiness. And clarity accelerates everything.
When you get clear on your foundations, your offer, your messaging, your client, you stop spinning. You stop second-guessing.
You stop feeling like you’re always one step behind. And business starts to feel lighter, even when you’re still busy.
That’s what I mean when I say clarity creates calm. It’s not about doing less. It’s about doing the right things with structure and confidence.
So if you’ve been telling yourself, “I’ll work on this when things calm down,” I want to gently challenge that. Because the messy middle doesn’t resolve itself. You don’t accidentally stumble into clarity. You choose it. And when you do, everything shifts. Your offers feel solid. Your messaging lands. Your marketing becomes easier. Your clients are a better fit.
And growth stops feeling like overwhelm.
Now, if you’re sitting here thinking, “Okay, I get it, but I don’t even know where to start,” I want to invite you to something.
This Thursday, January 22nd, I’m running a free live masterclass called From Scattered to Structured.
It’s 30 minutes, and I’m walking you through my CLEAR Business Growth Framework, the exact process I use with clients like the parent coach to move out of the messy middle and into structured, sustainable growth.
Inside the masterclass, you’ll see:
Why so many service providers get stuck in the messy middle
The clarity gaps that keep you feeling stretched, underpaid, or overwhelmed
The structure you need before you plan offers, pricing, or marketing for 2026
How the CLEAR framework becomes your pathway to moving forward with confidence
It’s completely free.
You can attend live, or catch the replay if the time doesn’t work.
And if you’re ready to stop waiting and start building, this is the perfect next step.
You can register now at esthergretton.com/masterclass, or just tap the link in the show notes.
Alright, my friend, that’s it for today.
Next week, we’re talking about something that ties beautifully into this: Why refinement creates momentum faster than reinvention.
Because you don’t need to throw everything out and start over. You just need to tighten what’s already there.
Talk soon.
